Something that can commonly cause confusion is defining the differences between synthetic and simulated diamonds.

Synthetic diamonds are also known as laboratory-grown diamonds or cultured diamonds. They are real diamonds but not naturally occurring.

Simulated diamonds are also known as diamond simulant and include things like Cubic Zirconia (CZ) and moissanite. They can also include some clear gemstones like Swarovski.

The quality of Cubic Zirconia Simulated Diamond has evolved to the point where it is virtually impossible to distinguish the difference between real Diamond and pavé CZ Simulant Diamond to the naked eye. Both have the same brilliance, sparkle, and luster. Both look virtually identical and share the characteristics of a flawless diamond.

In a recent 2021 interview, jeweller Ben Baller of iconic IF&CO Los Angeles stated that even with 20+ years in the jewellery business, if presented with a Pavé (Small) VVS Diamond and a CZ Simulant Diamond of the same size, it would be extremely difficult to tell the two apart without any professional equipment.

Our CZ Simulant Diamond Collection gives the option to purchase a truly exquisite piece of jewellery for a fraction of the price - without making sacrifice on appearance or quality.
